A Very Big Post

Things have been so busy around here, I haven't had any time to keep our blog up with our happenings...so instead of doing a whole bunch of posts, I decided to make this one long post.
Molly turns 7 months.
Molly turned 7 months old, well actually now she's 7 1/2 months old...but o well. Here's what she's been up to: eating solids, quite a variety...although she definitely has her days where she eats and eats and days where she won't take a thing. And without saying a word, you know exactly what she's trying to tell you. She opens right up, like a little bird, or she clamps down and turns her face to hide in the highchair. The one thing she eats without fail is Mum Mum's (rice crackers), she chows down on these things, she'll eat them all day, even if she doesn't want any solids. She's definitely on the move, her specialty is going backwards, but yesterday (4/28), she started crawling forward for the first time!! I was eating some crackers out of a ziplock bag and she wanted that bag!! So I teased her with it and she actually lifted hands and knees up off the floor and crawled forward! She'd get mad at me after a bit if I didn't give her the bag, so I would and then tease her again and wow! she got pretty fast! :-) I realized I wanted to stop b/c I wasn't ready for her to be fast yet, so today, no more ziplock bags and she's back to hanging around on the floor and making her way backwards. Here's a few recent pics of my little sweetie pie.
I Can't Believe how Grown up he is!!
So Will got some new clothes, all of which should be too big for my little baby boy, right? But no, they weren't...size 3T jeans, 4T shirt and sweatshirt and 8 1/2 shoes....all fit...just perfect. Although, the jeans fit for length but are huge in the waist...have you ever shopped for belts for a three year old boy? Not an easy thing to do...black and brown fancy leather belts are all over the place, but try to find striped, colorful, woven belts? Don't exist! I looked everywhere, in the stores, and online. I asked employees too, all of them said nope, don't have them. Then I remembered one of my favorite catalogs that I get in the mail for kids and women's clothing...Boden. They are in England....and they have striped, woven, belts. A three pack actually...so yes, I finally found belts and they came all the way from England! Anyway, here is a little photo shoot I did with my big boy...I just couldn't believe how grown up he looked!
To go along with the grown up good looks...my boy is doing some very grown up work at preschool. He loves going, has lots of friends that he talks about on a daily basis, and tells me he loves his two teachers all the time. He has learned how to identify most of his numbers and quite a few letters in the alphabet. His writing is amazing (although he follows the dots, doesn't quite do it on his own yet) and loves bringing his art work home. My latest clue that my boy is growing up, is that he "read" his first book to me...all by himself. Every page. The title: Freight Train. It made me teary eyed. Below is a picture of some of his work (check out his name, numbers and Easter words): Little Miss Blue Eyes:
I've have quite the collection of pictures of Little Miss Molly and her gorgeous blue eyes. She's going to be dangerous with these little beauties....

The Kiddo's Go Swimming:
I've been wanting to sign Will up for swimming lessons for quite some time...like two years. He was in swimming when he was 6 months old, but we didn't continue b/c we didn't like the times (Friday evenings) and we weren't very fond of the teacher. So ever since it's been in the back of my mind that I wanted Will to start lessons again. But I haven't found the right place, with the right time, and right location. But I did find that the Lynnwood Rec Center has open Preschool and Family swim on Saturday and Sundays. So until I find some swim lessons I'm happy with, we'll be the teachers. Will had a blast and Molly looked adorable in her first swim suit. (She was not feeling so adorable in the water though, it made her pretty nervous. She didn't cry but she clenched her hands together in tight little fists, so tight that her hands and arms turned purple up to her elbows!)

She sipped!

This may be the shortest post I ever do, but I HAD to share this great news.
Molly actually sipped out of a sippy cup tonight! She sipped three separate times and actually drank water! Those of you who talk to me on a regular basis know what an amazing feat this is for our little Molly. This girl reaches for the bottle, holds the bottle, wants the bottle, but doesn't have a clue how to use the bottle (or sippy cup for that matter, she does all the same stuff with a cup). She doesn't suck on the bottle/cup, she just chews on the bottle/cup, just gums and naws at it...but TONIGHT she sipped!!

Sunny Days are Here Again!

FINALLY!!! Sunshine does exist in the Pacific Northwest...we are such an outdoors family...the winters really do us in around here. We're okay Nov/Dec/Jan...but come Feb/March and this year, give me a break, April, we are really going stir crazy...so at the first hint of sunshine we are out the door and in the backyard. I can still remember when Will was about a year and a half and he would stand at the backdoor during the winter looking at the rain and saying, ou-ide! ou-ide! And we would tell him, we have to wait for more sun, Will, it's too cold. So then he would stand at the backdoor saying "mo-un! Mo-un!" and to this very day, you will find him singing, quite frequently, "Rain, rain, go away, come back another day...more sun!!" (Our own little version of the song.) Enjoy our sunshine pics.
I came home from running errands and this is where I found Jeremy with our punkin. Cracked me up.

I just thought she really was 'berry sweet' so I had to include this pic even if it's not outside.Another day I came home and this is where I found Molly...obviously her daddy dressed her...pink, blue and red polka dots! Come on...:-)Daddy surprised Will with a new set of really big sand tools...a shovel, rake and hoe, Will loves them...even if they are almost bigger than his entire sandbox. :-)Jeremy was doing our own version of aerating the lawn and Will was walking around copying him, it was very cute. Our future Tiger Woods is at it again...he didn't lose a thing in the off-season!

Hippity-Hop!!

Happy Easter everyone. We had a wonderful Easter weekend. Will woke up to an empty Easter basket that the Easter bunny needed to fill with eggs, so he did a little hunt around the house for all the eggs and on the way found Molly's basket full of goodies and then his own basket full of fun stuff-a painting book, some Easter play doh, firefighter lego's and Mickey Mouse dominoes. The Easter bunny filled his eggs with the domino's and lego's, but don't worry, Will got plenty of candy too! :-) Then we headed to church where he made an Easter Basket in the "train room" and Molly made it through the whole service in the nursery (last Sunday we had to go get her after 10 minutes.) Then we had a very yummy Easter dinner at my mom's house with Ken, his mom, Phyllis, and my grandma and grandpa.

The first couple pictures are of Will at an egg hunt we went to at our church last weekend, I thought they were so funny I had to include them.

Will found an egg under the train table.
A "headless" Will as he goes down the bouncy slide.
Big jumps inside the bouncy castle.
The next few pics are of Will Easter morning doing his hunt (his sleepy hair cracks me up).
The kiddo's easter baskets.
The family and kiddo's in our Sunday best.

Happy Anniversary To Us!

Well, this post is a week late...but I wanted to do it anyway...blogs are so much about kids, that I thought it would be nice to put something in here about us. Last weekend my mom stayed with Will one night while Jeremy, Molly and I went to stay at the Sorrento Hotel in downtown Seattle to celebrate our 7th anniversary. This is the hotel we stayed in the night we got married. (Molly would have been with Will and Grandma too...IF she'd take a bottle!!)

Here we are 7 years ago:

And here we are present day:
We had a fabulous time, we ate lunch at Ivars on the water, then went back to the hotel so we could check in and let Molly take her afternoon nap. The day/night really couldn't have gone better...I was so nervous that Molly would wake up at a time where she would then be super tired during dinner and it would be pointless...but she slept from 3pm-6pm! Perfect! Dinner was great at the Daily Grill on 7th in Seattle...Molly woooed everyone...of course. And I was nervous that staying in a hotel would be silly b/c we wouldn't really sleep that great b/c Molly would have a bad night (she's not all that consistent yet)...but she spoiled us and gave us a fantastic anniversary present...she slept from 9pm to 5:30am, I fed her, she went right to sleep within seconds and slept until 8:30am...and even better, Jeremy and I also slept until 8:30am...first time in 3 years...it was marvelous. Then we ordered room service (we ALWAYS order breakfast through room service, it's one of our favorite things) and Jeremy made fresh coffee with a french press! Fancy, huh? :-)

Here's some pictures from the weekend:

Molly at Ivars, gorgeous blue eyes, and no she didn't taste the lemon.
Us on our big cushy bed.
Molly in her fancy dinner dress playing with really expensive hotel M & M's.
Our delicious waffles with berries breakfast.
Sorrento Hotel at night time.
Sorrento Hotel during the day time.
This is what Will was doing with Grandma at home...Jeremy was so happy to see him COVERED in makeup when we got home...AND Will burst into tears when we washed it off without taking a picture!
Two more fun photos (who's who?):
